01 — Built, Not Bet
In the last few years the hobby picked up a habit: selling uncertainty like it’s a feature. Mystery boxes, “odds,” “chase,” “hits,” and language that makes you feel like you either won or lost even when you simply bought a product. That framing is convenient for sellers because it shifts responsibility. If a product is weak, they shrug and call it bad luck.
We don’t operate like that. Sports Card Assembly is built around accountability: defined inputs, stable rules, and a repeatable build process. The goal is a buyer experience that feels consistent and respectful, not a dopamine experiment. If you love ripping packs, we respect that. We just refuse to dress a business relationship up like a casino.
02 — Baltimore, Sports, and Culture
We’re based in Baltimore, and the city shows up in how we think about sports and collecting: loyal fans, strong opinions, real history, and zero patience for fake confidence. Baltimore culture respects people who do what they said they’d do, and it notices quickly when someone doesn’t.
Whether you’re a Ravens fan who still remembers the exact play you’re mad about, an Orioles fan who has lived through the highs and rebuilds, or someone who just loves the ritual of collecting, Baltimore sports culture teaches you something valuable: long-term loyalty is earned by consistency, not promises.
03 — The Assembly Pack (Flagship)
The Assembly Pack is our staple because it’s a single, permanent product format with a stable identity. It is not a rotating theme. It is not seasonal. It is not a team edition. It is our “this is who we are” pack, designed to remain consistent year after year so returning customers can buy with confidence, not curiosity.
The Assembly Pack is also a separate lane from Lucky Packs. It does not pull from, share, or interfere with your Lucky Pack ABCD box structure or the cards designated for those builds. Lucky Packs remain their own line. The Assembly Pack remains its own line. That separation protects both products from compromise.
Permanent rules (non-negotiable)
These standards are stable so the flagship never drifts as the business scales.
- Single sport only: Football, Basketball, or Baseball.
- No graded cards: raw-only by design.
- Separate inventory lane: does not touch Lucky Pack ABCD boxes.
- No seasonal/team themes: the format stays the same year-round.
- Clarity-first language: no “jackpot framing,” no fake odds.
04 — How We Operate
A lot of shops claim to be curated, but curation without structure becomes mood-based. Our approach is cadence and control: sourcing, sorting, building, and shipping run on repeatable blocks so the product does not change based on convenience.
See the operating cadence
We keep the system simple, repeatable, and disciplined so your experience doesn’t change month to month.
- Sourcing + screening: inventory that can’t meet the standard gets rejected early.
- Sorting + separation: inventory lanes stay clean so one product line can’t cannibalize another.
- Build + verification: controlled runs with verification before sealing.
- Red line rule: if minimums are threatened, we pause and source; we do not dilute.
06 — Meet the Team
We split responsibilities to keep the operation sharp, but both of us share a veto on anything that could damage trust: listing accuracy, condition standards, packaging discipline, and how we describe products.
Vincent Anselmi
Owns the operating system: SKU structure, inventory minimums, cadence, Shopify trust infrastructure, and communication standards, so the buyer experience stays consistent even as volume increases.
Chase Upperman
Owns product integrity: sorting discipline, condition checks, build consistency, and selection logic across Football, Basketball, and Baseball, enforcing standards before the seal goes on.
07 — FAQ
Are Lucky Packs still available?
Yes. Lucky Packs remain a separate product line with their own SKUs and rules. The Assembly Pack is our flagship format and does not share inventory lanes with Lucky Pack ABCD box logic. Different lane, different standards, different purpose.
Do you promise specific players or dollar values?
No. We do not guarantee a specific player, a specific card, or a specific resale value. We communicate in stable rules and verified handling, because clarity builds long-term trust.
Do you include graded cards in the Assembly Pack?
No. The Assembly Pack is raw-only by design, and that standard is permanent.
